B.J. Raji Has Become a Force for Green Bay -- On Both Sides of Ball

B.J. RajiLast week B.J. Raji was sitting in a defensive meeting when he was tapped on the shoulder. The Green Bay nose tackle was told he was wanted in the team's offensive meeting as the Packers primed for their divisional playoff scrap against the Atlanta Falcons.

Often when players are summoned while dutifully occupied, there is an issue, a problem to be fixed. A yank here can mean a hideous jolt there.

But Raji gained an appeal for a defensive lineman that is as cool as it gets.

How about a little switcheroo?

"I go in, and coach (Mike) McCarthy told me to sit by running backs coach (Edgar) Bennett and look as they installed this play,'' said Raji in a telephone interview from Green Bay on Tuesday morning. "I line up in the backfield behind the guard. I hit the hole behind the tackle. Clear the hole. Keep driving. Fullback John Kuhn runs it up in there behind me.''

Touchdown.
