It wasn't just the numbers that jumped out at you about LeGarrette Blount. It was the fact he got those numbers working behind an offensive line that was ripped up and sewn back together because of injuries.Blount led the NFL in rushing over the last five games of the regular season and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for December. That work was done behind a line overhauled week-to-week.
Over the final five weeks, the 247-pound Blount led the NFL in rushing with 511 yards on 87 carries (5.9 per carry) and scored two touchdowns. He also tied for the lead league in most runs of 10 yards or more with 14.
Blount was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Oregon who was cut by Tennessee, a move full of regret for Titans coach Jeff Fisher. Blount ended the season with 1,007 yards and became just the second undrafted rookie to rush for 1,000 yards in league history (Dominic Rhodes of the Indianapolis Colts in 2001 was the other).
