The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl features the Hawaii Warriors taking on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday, Dec. 24th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Hawaii leads the series 5-3 including a 44-16 thumping the last time the two squared off back in 2004.Storyline: The Hawaii Warriors are making their first bowl appearance since losing to Notre Dame in the Hawaii Bowl in 2008, and are coming off a strong year after sharing the WAC title with Boise State and Nevada. Hawaii will lean on its prolific offense and look to attack through the air early. The Warriors lead the nation in passing at 387.8 yards per game and aim to capitalize on Tulsa's defense that's averaging over 300 yards allowed through the air.
Meanwhile, Tulsa's offense revolves around the Conference USA Player of the Year -- quarterback G.J. Kinne. The Golden Hurricane ranks fifth in total offense (503.5) and 10th in scoring (39.7) and heads to the Hawaii Bowl on the heels of a six-game win streak. Despite missing the postseason last year, Tulsa has won its last two bowl games and seek a third as it takes on Hawaii on Friday night.
