D.C. United announced today that the club will volunteer for the United Service Organizations? Operation Care Package program on Thursday, September 1 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. ET. Thirty D.C. United volunteers, including five players, will join volunteers from the USO of Metropolitan Washington at the USO Warehouse on Fort Belvoir in Virginia to assemble care packages for U.S. troops overseas.

WASHINGTON ? On August 13, with Bill Hamid serving a red card suspension, D.C. United third ?keeper Joe Willis recorded a shutout in a 4-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps in his MLS debut. Eight days later, Willis took a hard luck 1-0 loss on Aug. 21 against Sporting Kansas City.
The performances proved that Willis can hack it in MLS. But if it weren?t for ties to DC assistant coach Chad Ashton, Willis may have never made his way to the nation?s capital at all.

After possible call-ups earlier this summer came and went without things working out, Najar was part of the roster for the next two friendlies Honduras will play on Sept. 3 against Colombia and Sept. 6 against Paraguay.
